Tom Monteith has over 25 years experience in Private Client work, including the preparation of Wills, the winding-up of estates, the formation and administration of trusts, Inheritance Tax planning and asset protection work generally. This can involve protecting assets from the effects of tax, separation and divorce, and business failure amongst various other risks.

 

Tom acts for numerous clients across Scotland, assists in cases of adults with incapacity, the affairs of the elderly generally and he provides guidance and assistance to couples getting married for the second time.

 

On the charity front, Tom acts as Clerk to seven of the 14 historic Incorporations that make up the Trades House of Glasgow, as well as the Grand Antiquity Society of Glasgow and the Society of Deacons and Free Preseses of Glasgow.

 

Tom was responsible for the Sheriff Court case of T Petitioner, which broke new law in cases of clients suffering from mental incapacity.

 

He has chaired and spoken at numerous conferences and continues to provide talks on a number of different private client and charity topics.

 

Tom is qualified in England as well as in Scotland and is a member of the Law Society of Scotland's Trust and Succession Law Sub-Committee.
